Khalid Warsame

Khalid Warsame is a writer, editor, and arts-producer.

Formerly, he was a Creative Producer at Footscray Arts, Fiction Editor at the quarterly journal The Lifted Brow, and Co-Director of the National Young Writers Festival, and a Wheeler Centre Hot Desk Fellow.

His essays, fiction, and criticism have appeared in numerous publications, including The Lifted Brow, The Saturday Paper, Overland Literary Journal, The Big Issue, Cordite Poetry Review, and Meanjin. He has appeared as a facilitator and guest artist at writers festivals, most recently at the Sydney Writers’ Festival and Melbourne Writers’ Festival.

His work has recently appeared in the anthology New Australian Fiction (KYD), and Growing Up African in Australia (Black Inc.)

He sits on the Program Advisory Committee for the Emerging Writers Festival as well as the Industry Advisory Committee for the Creative Writing program at RMIT. He lives and works on the un-ceded lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation.
