Roj Amedi

Roj is a writer, editor, senior campaigner at Colour Code – an independent national movement of First Nations and migrant communities organising and campaigning for racial justice – and is a member of the board of the Human Rights Arts and Film Festival. Her previous work includes editing Acclaim Magazine and Neue Luxury, and writing for the likes of Saturday Paper, SBS, Gusher, Swampland, Meanjin and Vault Magazine.

She is a Kurdish woman from Iraq who sought refuge in Australia in the 1990s, an experience that has influenced her community organising and advocacy in LGBTQIA+, refugee and racial justice.
