Thabani Tshuma

Thabani is Zimbabwean born living abroad. His work is influenced by the myriad identity challenges of the diaspora, expatriates and immigrants, while also addressing awareness around addiction, mental health and generational trauma. He is currently in his final year of studying journalism, a 2019 Hotdesk fellowship recipient with the Wheeler Centre and can be regularly found in the Melbourne spoken word scene, having won an honourable mention in the 2018 Melbourne Spoken Word Prize, co-curating Thin Red Lines, winning Slamalamadingdong’s 2019 Grand Slam, and ranking in the world’s top 50 slam poets at the Individual World Poetry Slam 2019.
