Torika is a Fijian-Australian mother, artist and educator who produces multidisciplinary projects centering the counter-narrative of marginalised histories and knowledges through curatorial collaboration, photography, video, installation and publication. For the past 12-years Torika’s work has focussed on the necolonial commodification of Oceanic bodies; military migration and the intersections of race, gender and power. Torika is the founder of the Community Reading Room (a pop-up art library) and is a lecturer in Art and Performance in the School of Communication and Creative Arts at Deakin University.
